Approach

From Obergurgl you can reach the Langtalereck Hütte in about 2.5 hours. From there, follow path 35 towards Hochwilde Haus and reach the start of the via ferrata in 20 minutes.

Descent

After getting out, you will reach the Hochwilde Haus in about 40 minutes and the Langtalereck Hut in about an hour. It takes about 2.5 hours to get back to Obergurgl.

Route description

A gorgeous panoramic via ferrata in the middle of the Obergurgl glacier world.
Although the climb is missing specific difficulties, it is due to its alpine altitude and its exposure to the north quite demanding and requires via ferrata experience. There are sufficiently enough footholds and two emergency exits which are marked even taking a shortcut of the route is possible.
In the easy parts (A-B) you gather your strength for the short and difficult ascents (C/D). The prominent grassy ledge after the first third invites for a break or you can even exit here.
350 meters in elevation (2.410 - 2.760m) and 700 meters climbing. Ca. 3 hours. With descent to the Langalereck Hütte 4 hours.
