Cross-country skiing trail Bärenbad cross-country skiing trail

Difficulty ratings: medium

Bärenbad—that's where we want to go! This cross-country trail sounds so tempting, and for good reason: it features a gentle incline but offers a wonderful loop through the sparse forest.

We recommend because:

An easy-to-moderate cross-country ski loop around the Kaunergrat Nature Park Visitor Center that, after a gentle climb, leads through a peaceful route along shady, snow-covered forest trails. A fun downhill section about 600 meters long right at the start, following a short initial climb. Along the way, the trail offers frequent glimpses of the surrounding winter landscape of the nature park.

Description

The Bärenbadloipe starts at the Naturparkhaus at Gachenblick and the first 150 metres are uphill until a 600 metre long descent begins. The trail then leads us through a challenging, shady section of forest to the so-called Bärenbad, which gives this trail its name. Immediately afterwards, you reach the Hubertus trail and follow this in a combined classic/skating trail to the starting point at the Nature Park House.
