From the Alpbach tourist office towards Hotel Post, continue on the Höhenstraße heading to Reith in the Alpbachtal. At the Hausertal bridge, turn right towards the "Außerbischofen" farm, then turn left. Here begins the forest road, which steadily climbs steeply to the Bischoferalm. One hairpin later, you reach the Bischofer Cheese Alm. After a short steep section, the path flattens until the last hairpin before the Bischofer Joch and continues to Hauserjoch at 1,505 m (viewpoint). A flat descent leads to Hauseralm, and with a short climb, you finally reach the Berggasthof Holzalm (place to refresh) at 1,452 m.
