First "bike", then "hike" - with the e-bike to Bischofer Joch and then on foot to "Hochstrickl".
Surefootedness is absolutely necessary when ascending and descending Hochstrickl! Not suitable for children.
E-bike, bike equipment including helmet, sturdy shoes for hiking, weather clothing, provisions
Bike:
The beautiful mountain bike route starts in the village center of Alpbach and leads outward towards the valley. At the "Bischofen" farm, follow MTB route 304 uphill to Bischofer Alm and continue to Bischofer Joch (approx. 1 hour). Here the bike stays!
Hike:
The hike now leads up a steep path about 250 meters of elevation gain briskly towards Gratlspitz (west side). After about 40 minutes, you reach a cozy clearing with a rest area and the summit cross of "Hochstrickl" at 1,787 m. The effort of the climb is rewarded with a fantastic view!
Tip: Hochstrickl is still a little insider tip. If you haven't had enough, you can continue hiking to the popular Gratlspitze (approx. 1 hour)
The return route follows the same path back to the e-bikes. Then it goes downhill on the familiar route to the Bischofen junction and back to the village center via "Trat" to the starting point.
The Bischofer Käselm offers a great place to stop (observe opening hours)
