Description

Starting in Kitzbühel, you leave the town on side roads towards Kirchberg and follow the well-developed cycle path parallel to the valley road. Shortly before the town center, the route branches off onto farm tracks and continues further into the valley towards Aschau. Here, the first longer ascent begins on wide forest roads, steadily gaining altitude and leaving the valley behind in several hairpin bends.

After about an hour, you reach the area above Aschau and continue following the ascent towards Stangenjoch. The route now runs on a high-altitude forest road that heads south above the valley. On this section, views open up repeatedly towards the Pengelstein, the Rettenstein group, and down into the Spertental. At the highest point of the traverse, you reach the junction to the Panoramalm, which lies slightly above the route.

This is followed by a longer descent towards Gauxjoch and the Trattenbach-Liften, where the route meets a wider service road. After the crossing, you continue downhill over gravel and forest paths until you reach the valley floor between Kirchberg and Jochberg. From here, the route is initially flat before the second ascent begins.

The following section leads via forest roads up to the Bruggeralm and further towards the slopes above Jochberg. Here, the route again runs at a beautiful high altitude before the final descent section begins. After a longer, steady descent, you reach the valley floor south of Kitzbühel.

The last few kilometers lead along the cycle path along the Aschauer Ache back towards Kitzbühel, where the loop ends at the starting point. Individual shorter sections with rougher terrain may require pushing for gravel bikes, but are easily rideable for E-MTBs and MTBs.
