Description

Description:

Since the area around the Vilsalpsee has been designated a nature reserve for over 50 years and is also a Natura 2000 site, this hike offers especially attractive features.

The barrier-free paths and excursion destinations selected by us also invite families and people with mobility aids to explore: they are mostly paved or well-gravelled and mostly easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs – for some sections however a helping hand can be beneficial.

Directions:

From Tannheim to the Vilsalpsee by road (closed to general traffic in both directions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or via the forest path, about 1 hour. From the guesthouse at the Vilsalpsee along the right lakeshore, to the Vilsalpe about 1/2 hour. From the Vilsalpe you can also visit the waterfall at the end of the valley, circular route no. 55, about 1 hour. Return to the guesthouse Vilsalpsee by the same path. Return trip by bus (also subject to charge with guest card), Tannheimer Alpenexpress (paid) or by horse-drawn carriage (only by reservation) from Vilsalpsee to Tannheim possible. ATTENTION! Left lakeside closed due to rockfall. No lake round possible.

Tip:
Dreamlike natural scenery.Safety guidelines:

It should be noted that mountain sports can involve an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful route planning, a basic risk always remains. Preparing by endurance training, appropriate technical training and education, as well as personal caution, reduces the risk of accidents and dangers. But please never forget that the weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Stay on the marked hiking trails.

Equipment:

Contemporary and well-maintained/serviced equipment (shoes, poles and clothing) not only provides a considerable amount of safety but also greatly facilitates hiking. Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) as well as sufficient fluids should not be forgotten.
