Description

From the hut, walk in a westerly direction, past the turnoff to the Trögler to the second fork in the trail. There, the trail follows the sign "Aperer Freiger" across the stream to Blaue Lacke. Continue over the orographic right side moraine of the Sulzenauferner in the direction of Fernerstube to the signpost "Aperer Freiger" and then follow the markings over boulders to the Hundsheim viewpoint. Now the trail continues southwards along the high plateau, always following the markings, until you reach the entrance to the west degree of the Aperer Freiger. The last hour is spent climbing the easy boulder slope to the summit. On the way down, it is possible to descend from the Hundsheim via the Fernerstube and thus make a circular route. The route is classified as moderately difficult and absolute surefootedness and a head for heights are required.
