Eagle Walk stages in East Tirol

The Hohe Tauern Mountains with the largest glaciers in the Eastern Alps and the highest mountains in Austria are a paradise for ambitious hikers and mountaineers. There are a total of around 250 three-thousand-metre peaks in East Tirol, with the mighty Großglockner towering over all its peers at 3,798 metres.

Hike Description

The East Tirolean variation of the Eagle Walk leads in nine one-day stages from Ströden at the foot of the Großvenediger past the Johannishütte, Eisseehütte, Bonn-Matreier-Hütte, Badener Hütte, Sudetendeutschen Hütte to the Stüdlhütte at the foot of the mighty Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain.
