Description

Alpine accommodation surrounded by craggy peaks
Austrian Alpine Club, Kufstein Division

The Wilder Kaiser Mountains do not only have impressive rocky formations, but also beautiful slopes and panoramic terraces covered with green vegetation. The Stripsenjochhaus stands on one of these at the crossing from the Kaiserbachtal Valley to the Kaisertal Valley, where the "tame" and the "wild" Kaiser Mountains converge. Guests greet each other here warmly too, as this is a much visited place for refreshments and accommodation enjoyed by hikers and climbers alike. Climbing, biking and even flying can all be enjoyed from here in equal measures and paragliders like to launch from Stripsenjoch. Something the founding fathers of the Kufstein Division of the Austrian Alpine Club could never have imagined when they built the Stripsenjochhaus at the beginning of the 20th century. Challenging hikes in the Kaiser Mountains, however, were certainly possible .
