Things that make the family ski area on the Glungezer special? The "Klumpern" and the descent at the end of the ski day.

We recommend because:

  • Ski area for beginners, families and leisurely winter sports enthusiasts with a particularly long valley run
  • Opportunity to try out "clumping" on single-skid toboggans
  • Great view of the Nordkette

Description

It is one of the smaller ski areas in the region, and yet it has a lot to offer. On the Glungezer to the south-east of Innsbruck, one of the longest runs in Tyrol awaits, with up to 15 kilometers, depending on how you ski. After the ascent with the 10-seater gondola lift and the "Tulfein-Express", a combined lift with chair and gondola, as well as a chairlift up to the Schartenkogel, the descent starts with a fantastic view of the Nordkette. It is marked red in the upper half and blue in the lower half, so it can also be mastered by beginners. From the highest mountain station at 2,304 meters, you descend more than 1,360 vertical meters to Tulfes. On the way, you pass restaurants such as the Alpengasthof Halsmarter or the Tulfeinalm and a practice lift with a wide ski meadow at the middle station. A modern snowmaking system with storage pond ensures that the slopes are sufficiently groomed. A local specialty in Tulfes is "Klumpern". Balancing on single-skid toboggans, you descend the practice meadows - fun for young and old.
