Description

At the Kofler sawmill, we climb on a forest path along the stream to the back of the valley, after the Frader Alm (1,621 m) turn left across the slope in a southeasterly direction straight up to the mountain ridge. Follow this further in a south-easterly direction to the summit at the state border.

Descent as for the ascent.

  • Arrival by public transport

    By train (S3) to Steinach am Brenner and continue with the 4145 bus in the direction of Obernberg a. Br. to the Obernberg Außertal or Berghotel stop. The beginning of the Vranov valley and the Kofler sawmill are located exactly between the two stops on the southern side of the mountain. You can find exact timetables at www.vvt.at. Free use of the bus with the Wipptal Guest Card!
