The route starts at the bottom station of the Waldbahn cable car. Follow the Waldweg (winter hiking trail) to Serfaus as far as signpost S020. Then head uphill on the Bifangweg trail (gentle incline). It takes you about 10 minutes to get to a turn-off with benches. At the junction, switch to Familienweg (winter hiking trail) and enter the forest. The trail leads in a few serpentines gently uphill and takes you to the tree line in no time. Continue on piste no. 85 to the top station of the Waldbahn cable car. From there, you can ascendto Sattelkopf via route 4 (480 vertical metres, 2.3 km, approx. 1.5 h).
