The best part of this tour is definitely the sunny ascent along the toboggan run. Or the view of the Lienz Dolomites. Or the tiny, wood-paneled Compedal ski hut.
The ski tour to the Compedal Ski Hut begins in the picturesque hamlet of Bichl on the Puster Valley High Road and climbs 390 meters in elevation to an altitude of 1,920 meters. The route winds through sunny wooded areas along a well-groomed and clearly marked trail that is particularly suitable for beginners and leisurely ski tourers. During the ascent, stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Lienz Dolomites open up time and again. After about 1.5 hours, you’ll reach the cozy Compedal Ski Hut, which invites you to stop for a break. The descent follows the groomed toboggan run, offering a safe and relaxing return to the valley.
Above Thal, situated on the sunny side of Pustertal, the Compedal ski chalet is concealed (1920m) with its sledge run. This ski tour is ideal for beginners and the more leisurely. Calling in at the ski chalet provides a cosy end to the activity. The starting point of the ski tour is the hamlet Bichl on the Pustertaler Höhenstrasse. After the first curve we leave the forest road to the right and walk uphill through the forest to the Compedal ski chalet, repeatedly crossing the forest road which we can also follow.
