An ascent for backcountry skiers with a gentle incline and a fantastic panoramic view over Ski Run 1. The ascent route ends at the Jakobskreuz, the Buchensteinwand mountain station.
The trailhead is located directly behind the Intersport building near the Buchensteinwand Lift valley station.
After a flat start, the route’s gradient increases steadily in the lower third but remains comfortable throughout. After a short narrow section—which can be bypassed along the edge of the slope (signposted)—the route follows a brief steep section along the ridge to the top station of the Hochfilzen II lift. From here, head straight along the ski trail of Run 1 for a short climb to the Buchensteinwand mountain station at the Jakobskreuz.
The 2021/2022 DAILY SKI TOURING PASS grants access to all facilities of the Pillersee Mountain Railway (such as signposted routes, free use of parking lots, restrooms, ski slopes, etc.)!

Every Tuesday and Thursday , 5:00–10:00 p.m .: Ski Tourers’ Evening— ascent via Route 2 is possible. Descent via Slope No. 2 is possible.
