Trail running Münster Mountain Trail – Bayreuther Hütte & Seitlingsteig 13K

13 km, 1,150 m of ascent and steep mountain trails: from Münster via Höllenstein to Bayreuther Hütte, returning via Sonnenbühelalm and Seitlingsteig.

Description

This compact but demanding trail run starts and finishes at the municipal office in Münster. The first kilometres lead through the village with moderate gradients towards Höllenstein – a good warm-up before the climb becomes much steeper. Following Alpine Club Trail 412 and the partly very steep Steinapfelweg, you gain plenty of elevation over a short distance on the way to Bayreuther Hütte. Once at the top, the climb is rewarded with impressive mountain views. The route then continues along scenic mountain trails towards Sonnenbühelalm before the descent begins via Seitlingsteig, leading back down into the valley and to Münster. With 13 km, around 1,150 m of ascent and a highest point of 1,640 m, this is a short but intense route for experienced trail runners who enjoy steep climbs and alpine terrain.
