The Maienweg trail in St. Anton am Arlberg is a moderate 6.1 km route with roughly 550 meters of elevation gain, climbing almost continuously and requiring solid fitness. The path leads via the Mühltobel Gorge or beneath the Galzig cable car to the Sennhütte and continues through the “Wunderwald” to the well-known Maienwasen. Numerous switchbacks then ascend to the Maiensee, one of the warmest mountain lakes above 1,800 m, before ending in St. Christoph am Arlberg.
