The trail leads steadily uphill on a well-groomed winter hiking trail to the rustic Larstigalm, where you should definitely plan a leisurely stop for refreshments.
The easy winter circular hike in the Horlachtal valley near Niederthai is a leisurely, family-friendly tour through the quiet Horlachtal valley with views of the rural Ötztal mountains. From the Sennhof parking lot, wide winter trails lead along the Grastalweg up to the Larstigalm, where you can stop for a bite to eat before returning to Niederthai along the Horlachbach stream. The loop combines gentle ascents and descents, wintery natural scenery and a rustic mountain hut as a refreshment stop to create a relaxed experience for leisure hikers and families.

Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, wind, rain, snow, and sun protection, a hat and gloves are required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone, and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions for tours without the possibility to stop for food, is necessary.
From the Sennhof car park, walk right across the road uphill to the Falknerhof Hotel. At the hotel, turn left, after 50 meters the road leads into the wide winter hiking trail called "Grastalweg", which steadily ascends to Larstigalm. After a comfortable stop at Larstigalm, walk straight ahead along the hiking trail next to the Horlachbach back to Niederthai.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal railway station. The terminus or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly continue with public transport or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination!
