Panorama, winter magic and family fun – discover the leisurely circular hike on the Hartkaiser.By gondola into a winter paradise: Enjoy a relaxed hike with views of the Wilder Kaiser.
This tour is suitable for families and pleasure seekers. Walk to the valley station of the Hartkaiserbahn. Take the gondola (with a valid mountain railway ticket) for a comfortable ride up to the Hartkaiser at 1,550 metres. At the top, a short circular trail leads through the forest to the photo point at the panoramic picture frame with the Wilder Kaiser in the background. Accompanied by dreamlike views, you hike along the groomed winter hiking trail towards Scheffau to the Tanzbodensee. After a short section through the forest, the path leads under the slope through an illuminated tunnel. During a leisurely loop around the lake, you can watch the skiers carving their turns. Afterwards, return along the same route to the Hartkaiser. Before taking the gondola back down to the valley, you can enjoy the sun terrace at the Panoramarestaurant Bergkaiser.

Heading
from Wörgl or Kufstein on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and
then take the first exit at the roundabout. Drive along the bypass, then turn
towards the centre of Ellmau when you reach the end (between MPreis and the
Sporthotel). Continue straight on until you see the Tourist Info on the
right-hand side (short-stay parking zone). The hiking starting point is
located opposite this on the left-hand side.
Heading from St. Johann on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and
drive straight on through the town until you see the Tourist Info on the
right-hand side (short-stay parking zone). The hiking starting point is
located opposite this on the left-hand side.
