Description

The starting point of this circular winter hike is on the eastern shore of Hintersteiner See at Café Restaurant Seestüberl. From there, follow the paved trail no. 822 along the northern shore, passing Jausenstation Goingstätt and continuing to Pension Maier. Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the wintry, often frozen lake. Shortly before Pension Maier, turn left and follow the signs towards Seestüberl on trail no. 822 until you reach the forest path along the southern shore.
Please note: This section is not cleared in winter and may be difficult to walk depending on weather conditions, especially in case of ice or fresh snow.
The forest path continues through the woods, alternating between uphill and downhill sections, until the “Hintersteiner See Süd” junction. Turn right there and continue to the Greidern farm. From here, follow the paved road towards Seestüberl until you reach the starting point on the eastern shore again.
