Winter hike Juns - valley footpath direction Madseit - Hintertux

Leisurely valley hike from Tux via Madseit to Hintertux - with a variety of routes and marvellous views.

Description

We cross the "Schaffler" bridge opposite the Junser Gasthäusl (house no. 635), at the building yard of the municipality of Tux and branch off to the right, into the valley in the direction of Hintertux. Here the valley hiking trail (trail no. 10) leads to Madseit (1/2 hour). In Madseit we cross either

- the "Gei(oa)sbrücke" to get to the main road. At the Adler Inn Tyrol Mountain Resort (house no. 690) turn left and walk along the road to the Alpinhotel Berghaus (house no. 711). From there, take trail no. 12 through the forest until just before Hintertux, cross the road and follow the access path to the Bichlalm/Hotel Hohenhaus junction. Turn left into the valley onto trail no. 11 and hike above Hintertux to the valley station of the glacier lift.

or

- walk past the Gei(oa)sbrücke bridge to the Nösslauhof farm (house no. 708). After the residential house short descent and hike on the road to house no. 701. Turn left, after the Alpinhotel Berghaus (house no. 711) we rejoin trail no. 12 in the direction of Hintertux.
