Winter hike in the Karwendel Nature Park: from the valley through the wintry forest to the Feilalm with panoramic views of Lake Achensee (approx. 3 hours).
From the parking lot at the toll booth at the entrance to the Karwendel valleys, the path runs straight ahead westwards into the Gerntal valley. After around 20 minutes, a signposted path branches off to the left of the road to the Feilalm. The slightly ascending path leads through the forest and crosses a forest road before continuing to the Feilalm at 1,380 meters above sea level (follow the signs).
If you are in good physical condition, you can continue the winter hike past the alp. The trail climbs steadily up to the "Gütenbergalm - Feilkopf" fork, where you keep right. After another 20 to 30 minutes, you will reach the 1,562-metre-high Feilkopf - a panoramic point with views of Lake Achensee.
The way back is the same as the ascent or alternatively on the winter forest path.
Note: The path up to the Feilkopf is also used by snowshoe hikers when the snow conditions are suitable and the trail is passable in good conditions. The walking time can vary depending on the snow conditions.
