Description

A leisurely loop along the Kaiserloipe trail on the sunny side of Ellmau.
This flat and enjoyable winter hiking trail at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range runs mostly parallel to the Kaiserloipe trail, which lives up to its name. You always have the Wilder Kaiser in view. The winter hiking trail is also particularly suitable for families with sleds.
You start in the village center at the hiking trailhead and hike towards the Wilder Kaiser. After the bus stop, turn right to the cross-country ski trail and winter hiking trailhead. In summer, this area is home to a popular golf green.
From here, follow the winter hiking trail eastward to the farms in the Hausbach district. Keep left, cross Wochenbrunnweg, and hike westward along the edge of the forest on the groomed winter hiking trail. After a left-hand bend, you will see a cozy sunbathing area on the right-hand side, which offers a magnificent view of the village and the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental ski area. When you arrive at Kaiserbad, you can take a break in the restaurant. Then continue westward. When you reach the road, follow it a short distance to the left and turn left again at the second house onto the groomed winter hiking trail. Follow this trail eastward. On this section, you will have the Wilder Kaiser in all its glory in front of you. Passing the Reiterbauer and the golf club clubhouse with the Sonneck restaurant, the loop closes and you hike back to the village on the right.

Special features along the way:
On the numerous sun benches along the winter hiking trail, you can take a short break and enjoy the wonderful view of the village of Ellmau or the Wilder Kaiser mountain range and soak up the sunshine.
As a pedestrian, you can also accompany cross-country skiers for a while and meet up later for refreshments.
