Wintry moorland landscape around Schwarzsee!

The hike begins in the village center of Kirchberg. We walk along Reithergasse to its end and turn right across the bridge to the Achenpromenade. We follow this path past the district of Klausen until we reach the railway underpass in Gundhabing. We pass the golf course and follow the hiking trail to the parking lot at the Stadtbad Schwarzsee. From here, we hike eastward along the lakeside path to the Alpenhotel Schwarzsee and then continue slightly uphill into the forest and through the beautiful birch-lined moorland surrounding the Schwarzsee. The way back leads past Hotel Bruggerhof, a short distance along the road to the Reither Landstraße, which we cross. We follow the hiking trail past the golf course back towards Klausen, pass the Fleckalmbahn and the Pension Brandseitstub’n, and walk up to the Landhotel Küchl. Here we turn right and follow the hiking trail past the swimming lake back to Kirchberg.
 
Variation: From the parking lot at the Stadtbad Schwarzsee, you can walk in about 20 minutes to the town center of Kitzbühel, which is definitely worth a visit with its historic Vorderstadt and Hinterstadt.
