Lake Hintersteiner See car park, Scheffau (subject to charge)

Paid car park at Lake Hinterstein – ideal for hikes around the lake and the Kaiser mountains.

Description

If you choose to park at Parkplatz Hintersteiner See, you have the ideal starting point to explore hiking trails around the Hintersteiner See.
At the same time, the parking lot is a starting point for hikes to beautiful alpine trails such as to Walleralm, Stöfflhütte, and Kafma Alm, or a circular hike around the crystal-clear Hintersteiner See. The parking lot is located right next to the beach area, which is open in summer.

The parking lot is subject to fees and open during the day. Parking is allowed with cars and motorcycles; motorhomes and buses cannot park here.

Camping and long-term parking are prohibited in this parking lot.
Motorhomes are also not allowed to be parked here during the day.

Coaches cannot park there, and access for buses over 10 meters in length is not permitted due to the narrow road to Hintersteiner See.
If the parking lots by the lake are overcrowded, access to the lake may be temporarily closed from Scheffau.
 
Tip - Arrival without a car: Use the Hintersteiner See hiking bus, which runs from the village center of Scheffau or also from the Park and Ride parking lot (next to the gas station) in Scheffau and regularly operates from Scheffau to the lake and back during the summer months.
