Attractions in the Seefeld Region

Mountain lakes, outdoor pools, cool ravines, a huge Peace Bell and wintersports history make the Seefeld Region a great destination for families and couples.

The "Geisterklamm" ("Ghost Ravine") in Leutasch may have a fearsome name, but families with children will enjoy exploring this cool canyon on hot summer days. Another popular ravine in the region is the Gleirschklamm near Scharnitz in the heart of the Karwendel Mountains. Visitors in summer will enjoy the lakes around Seefeld, though it is worth checking with the local tourism board before setting off. Two lakes, the Lottensee and the Wildmoossee, appear and disappear throughout the year depending on the groundwater – but the best chances of finding the lakes intact are in summer. Last but not least, the Rosshütte near Seefeld houses a local history museum telling the story of skiing in this region which has twice hosted the Winter Olympics. Oh, and the views from the hut of the surrounding Wetterstein Mountains and Karwendel Mountains are breathtaking.
