Cycling through Tirol with your gear! On a gravel bike, you can really feel the mountains up close – in your nose, before your eyes and – of course – in your legs. Here’s the essential information you need to know about bikepacking in Tirol.
Well-developed cycle paths along the Inn, Lech, Drau and other river valleys – perfect as feeder routes or for leisurely stages.
open forest tracks
Many forest tracks in Tirol are open to cyclists, provided no closure signs are displayed. When forestry work is taking place, be sure to observe the warning signs.
Mountain passes & high-altitude roads
Classic routes such as the Timmelsjoch, Reschen Pass, Hahntennjoch and Kühtai Saddle are public roads – offering legal and spectacular gravel riding.
Alpine trails and private paths
Only with the operator’s express permission. Prohibited without authorisation – even if they look tempting.
Closed paths
Please observe any ‘No Entry’ signs. Particularly after storms and in spring, many paths are muddy or closed due to forestry work.
