Description

The building at Kög 22 is one of the oldest houses in Reutte. The depictions on the façade show the "Holy Change" at the top. In this motif, which is popular in Tyrol, the infant Jesus is led by the hand of Mary and Joseph. The lower painting depicts St Nepomuk, who is regarded as the saint of bridges and patron saint against water hazards. In 1735, the market town of Reutte acquired the uninhabited house for 400 guilders to build the first hospital for the citizens of Reutte. It also served as a military hospital until 1772.
