show apartment
In the middle of Reutte there is a piece of modern history. In 1939, all residents of South Tyrol were officially given their "option": stay in Italy or change nationality and emigrate to the German Reich. Living space was needed for the South Tyrolean emigrants in their new homeland - so a South Tyrolean settlement was also built in Reutte, which is still completely intact. Numerous representations were attached to the facades of the houses, which corresponded to the ideology of the time and are worth a tour. A show apartment, the "South Tyrolean Settlement Place of Remembrance", can be visited by prior arrangement and shows the living conditions of the first resettlers.
