Florian Chapel

Information

Source: TVB Naturparkregion Reutte

Description

According to tradition, a chapel was built in honour of St. Florian after the great fire disaster of 1703. The Florian Chapel in its present form was demonstrably built around 1760. The Reutten painter Johann Christoph Haas (1753 - 1829), a pupil of Franz Anton Zeiller, probably created the altarpiece "St Florian protects the market town of Reutte" around 1780.
