The inn is one of Reutte’s oldest establishments and can be traced back to 1646 as a brewery inn. In 1765, the town council minutes mentioned the owner, Joseph Wagner, “innkeeper at the Mohrenkopf.” Over time, the names of the innkeeper families changed—
—but the name of the inn remained the same.
