Description

The facade painting "Annunciation" is located on the south-east side. Here, Mary receives the good news from the Archangel Gabriel that she has been chosen to be the Mother of God. The illusory architecture with the perspective running towards the back, the chequered floor and a green curtain hanging in the picture suggest that the painter was Joseph Anton Köpfle, an artist from Höfen. The painting shows Mary as a noble lady, with the Holy Spirit hovering over the scene. On the opposite north-west side of the building, unfortunately in a poor state of preservation, is a depiction of St Florian, who is considered the patron saint against fire and the danger of fire.
