The large town house was owned by the chief tax collector von Ehrenberg in 1798. In 1877, the Order of the Sisters of Mercy acquired it and ran it as an orphanage until 1939. By running a small farm, the sisters were able to provide themselves with food to some extent. They also ran the hospital and kindergarten and taught in a girls' school. After being confiscated by the Nazi authorities during the Second World War, the building was used as a health centre and from 1954 as a school. Today, the house is run by the spiritual sisters as a crèche and after-school care centre.
