Market Town Hall & Nail Column
The building is steeped in history. In 1491, the citizens of Reutte built a granary and town hall, which was continually extended. In the 15th and 16th centuries, court was held outside in front of the building. The weekly and annual markets were also held around the granary. Since the end of the 19th century, it has been the seat of the municipal administration. The nail column at the corner of the market town hall was made by Romed Speckbacher in 1917. Each nail hammered into it represented a donation for widows and orphans. The warriors holding shields at the end of the column symbolise the allies of Austria-Hungary in the First World War.
