Description

The "Museum im Grünen Haus" in the center of Reutte is one of the most stately buildings. It was probably built in the 16th century by a wealthy citizen of Reutte as a residence. The beautiful paintings inside the house also date from this time.

The Reutte painter Johann Jakob Zeiller designed the facade of the building in 1779. The bold green gives the house its name.

Since 1986, the house has been owned by the municipality of Reutte. After extensive adaptation and restoration work, the Tyrolean State Exhibition took place in the "Grünes Haus" in 1989. The museum is a proud recipient of the Tyrolean Museum Prize as well as the Austrian Museum Quality Seal.

We invite you to stop by and visit our current special exhibition. In the off-season, we also offer an informative permanent exhibition.
