High vally | 600m above Pfunds| always worth a visit
High above Pfunds, nestled amidst the impressive mountains of Tyrol, lies the Pfundser Tschey. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,600 to 1,700 meters, this unique high-altitude valley stretches out with its expansive meadows, traditional hay barns, and small cooking huts. What makes the Tschey so special is its unspoiled, authentic character. More than a hundred small barns and huts are scattered across the meadows, shaping the landscape just as they have for generations. Traditional farming practices maintained by the local farmers play a vital role in preserving this distinctive character to this day. The Pfundser Tschey is a special place in every season. In spring, countless crocuses transform the meadows into a sea of blossoms. Summer reveals the diverse alpine flora at its finest, while in autumn, golden larches bathe the landscape in warm hues. In winter, a peaceful blanket of snow settles over the high valley and the small barns. At the heart of the Tschey stands the Maria Schnee Chapel, cherished by locals and visitors alike as a special place of tranquility and spiritual energy. A leisurely walk through the Tschey meadows leads directly to this idyllic spot.
