Information

Description

Alois and Maria Speckbacher founded the "Erste Außerferner Dampfbäckerei" here on 12 October 1905. Due to the turmoil of the First World War, they specialised in trading in colonial goods from 1914. In 1934, they rebuilt the shop and created a sales area of around 100 square metres for what was now the wholesale company A. Speckbacher, which was unusual at the time. A coffee roasting plant also found its place here. This developed into the Eurogast Speckbacher wholesale store at its current location in Großfeldstraße. Under the gable of the building is a depiction of a so-called "Maria Hilf Madonna", an image of the Mother of God with the child tenderly embracing her.
