Unterer Salzstadel
Today's commercial and residential building with its characteristic hipped roof was home to the "lower salt barn" until the end of the 18th century. It was built of wood in the 15th century to house a salt store in Unterreutte; a new stone building was constructed in 1712. A fee had to be paid to the owner, the parish of Breitenwang, for the storage of the salt barrels. When the salt trade stagnated, the "Untere Salzstadel" was used as a customs office ("Dogana-Stadel") for goods traffic to and from Füssen between 1778 and 1841.
