Zur Goldenen Rose
The former brewery inn "Zur goldenen Rose" is said to have taken its name from the pub "Zur güldenen Rosen" around 1800, when it ceased trading. According to tradition, Johann Ammann had the stately mid-floor building erected in 1724 over an old Gothic structure. His son, the wealthy innkeeper Jakob Mang Ammann, moved the brewery of his neighbouring "Goldenes Kreuz" inn into an extension of the "Goldene Rose" in 1774.
