The best bars in Innsbruck

End the working day in a cosy atmosphere with a cool beer or a sparkling (non-alcoholic) cocktail - perhaps with a view of the mountains. Innsbruck has just the right bars for this.

A bar in an ancient vaulted cellar: the “Fuchs & Hase” is tucked away on Domplatz. Creative drinks and natural wines from small-scale winegrowers make for a special taste experience. You won’t be ready to call it a night here any time soon!

Outdoor seating: yes, with a direct view of Innsbruck Cathedral
Food: Sandwich creations such as the “Vietnamese Banh Mi” with pulled pork, pickled radish, fresh coriander and homemade Sriracha soynaise
Recommendation from the drinks menu: ‘Fuchs & Hase Special Sparkling Water’ in white, yellow, orange, pink, red, purple and green. For example: “White Sparkling Water” with mango, yoghurt liqueur, soda and Prosecco
Non-alcoholic: Homemade cola
Our tip, because the outdoor seating area offers shade in an urban setting during the summer.

Great music, lovely décor and even lovelier drinks – on warm evenings, you can sit outside under the covered archway. Near the ‘Messe’ S-Bahn station, ‘Plansch’ has opened in arch number 69. The only thing they’ve carried over from the former swimming pool pub in Amras is the name. It’s great fun!

Outdoor seating: two areas in fact – west and east
Recommendation from the drinks menu: ‘Negroni Sbagliato’ – the lighter version of the Classic Negroni. Mixed with Prosecco instead of gin.
Non-alcoholic: ‘Zirbe Zitrone’ with fresh strawberries and basil
Our tip, because you can always find a cosy spot – on the eastern terrace in summer, on the western terrace in spring and autumn, and indoors in winter.

The Blaue Brigitte at the “Hotel Weisses Kreuz” is no ordinary rooftop bar. Instead of sitting at a bar, you sit at a large brass table – perfect for striking up a conversation. The décor: Baroque in style, in shades of blue and gold, and elegant.

Outdoor seating: no, otherwise it wouldn’t be a rooftop bar
. Recommendation on the drinks menu: ‘The bee in the lemon tree’, a very special cocktail with a light honey and thyme flavour. To prepare it, vodka is chilled with honey and thyme for 24 hours.
Non-alcoholic: ‘Basil Smash’, a non-alcoholic twist on the ‘Gin Basil Smash’, made with homemade basil syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice and Tanqueray Alcohol-Free Gin.
Our tip, because the bar is as elegant as it is cosy. Plus, some chilled-out music – just the thing to round off a day’s work.

La Cantina has been a hotspot for Italian flair and arguably the best espresso in town for years. Whether it’s for breakfast with freshly baked cornetto, a midday snack or a glass of wine in the evening – there’s always a lively crowd here. The Thursday ‘Aperitivo’ is particularly popular, featuring a fine ‘à la Milano’ buffet.

Outdoor seating: yes
Food: yes
Recommendation from the drinks menu: alongside fine Italian wines, such as Lugana, the flavour of the coffee is a real highlight. In summer, you simply must try the ‘affogato’ (espresso with vanilla ice cream).

At Kater Noster, there’s a spot for everyone – on sofas, chairs or bar stools, in a wonderful mix reminiscent of a lovely flea market. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for a chat, unwinding or getting some work done. In the evenings, things liven up with cold beers and fancy long drinks.

Outdoor seating: on the pavement in front of the pub

. Non-alcoholic: Vanilla and cinnamon iced coffee (not too sweet, the perfect accompaniment in the outdoor seating area)
Our tip: because here you can enjoy really good drinks in an urban-style atmosphere, far off the Classic tourist track.
