Description

The Darmstädter Hütte is located in the Verwall group. The outward and return hike leads through the Moostal valley and takes approx. 8.5 hours, by bike approx. 4 hours. At the tourist office in St. Anton am Arlberg, follow the road westwards to the Rendlbahn cable car, immediately afterwards cross the pedestrian bridge, follow the signs ‘Moostalweg’, past the Bifang Alm (not open in summer) along path 32, after the dam wall turn left and follow the road steeply uphill until it joins the Moostalfahrweg. From here, continue right along the forest road to the Alpe Tritsch junction. Behind the Alpe, follow the footpath to the Skiclub-Arlberg hut. Follow the right-hand side of the Moosbach stream to a footbridge, cross it and after a short while rejoin the Moostalfahrweg road. Follow this until the end of the Kartellsee. Turn right there onto the path to the Darmstädter Hütte. Follow the same path back to the starting point.
