The new Reichenberger Hut lies at 2,586 meters in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, making it an ideal stopover for the Lasörling High Trail or serving as a base for further summit tours in the Virgental. Surrounded by impressive mountains and pure nature, it is a perfect destination for everyone who enjoys hiking, seeks tranquility, and loves the alpine world. From Virgental, specifically from Prägraten am Großvenediger, the hut is reachable in approximately 5 hours of walking timeeasy to reach. An ascent from St. Jakob in Defereggen through the Trojeralmtal is also popular. The walking time from the Trojeralm parking lot is approximately 4 hours.
