High above Matrei at 1,850 m, the Zunigalm is famous for its cuisine.

Description

Coming from Prägraten, you turn right into the signposted access road before Matrei. At the Guggenberg parking lot, you can park your car. From there, a wide hiking trail leads to the alpine pasture in about two hours. The beautiful snack station offers breathtaking distant views from the sun terrace into the Tauern and Virgental as well as of the Glockner and Granatspitz group, and the Malham and Venediger group. The cuisine of Zunigalm is widely famous. The legendary monstrous blueberry omelette is best ordered with two sets of cutlery. But the homemade apple strudel is also a real recommendation. In just over half an hour, you can hike up to the idyllic Zunigsee or extend the tour to a roughly two-hour circular hike over the Arnitzalm.
