The DEZ in the east of the provincial capital of Innsbruck is the classic shopping centre in Tyrol. It was opened in 1970 - in fact as the first shopping centre of its kind in the whole of Austria - and now the DEZ (short for "The Shopping Centre") is home to more than 130 shops on an area of 33,000 m². No matter whether you are looking for a trendy item of clothing, a new laptop or a cosy sofa: There's a pretty good chance that you'll find what you're looking for at the DEZ.
In all districts and regions of Tyrol you will find shopping centres that invite you to shop with international brands and local products. The largest shopping centres are in cities such as Innsbruck, Schwaz and Kufstein, but shopping centres in Telfs, Imst, Wörgl and Brixlegg also offer a wide range of products. A visit to a shopping centre is particularly recommended in bad weather, as there is not only a large selection of shops, but often also cafés, restaurants and even cinemas to ensure a pleasant stay.
