Using fabric scraps (such as those from old loden coats) and a paste made from rye flour and water, people crafted these warm slippers for the whole family. And even today, Doggln are still made from natural materials and carefully handcrafted.

Description

Today, the Hartl family is the fourth generation to produce the classic Zillertal Doggl. Traditional felt shoes, which are known far beyond the Zillertal, are made by hand, step by step, just as the great-grandfather learned. The basis or the particularly strong and resilient outer layer of the Doggls is Zillertal Loden, a felt product made from the distinctive gray wool of the Tyrolean stone sheep. Speaking of Zillertal loden - the distinctive gray traditional costume of the Zillertal men is also based on the old work clothing made of high-strength loden, which is also used to cover the original Zillertal dogglen of the Hartl family.
