Don't be distracted by the view of the Großglockner on the Gornerwald Trail: the start of the challenging freeride requires full concentration. The second half of the trail is easier and gives you time to think: descend with a view of Austria's highest mountain. Where else can you find that?
Challenging freeride with a view of the Glockner: Narrow, steep and stepped, the descent initially winds its way through sparse forest. Large jumps, stones and steps provide additional thrills - spiced up with the odd step-up and drop-down. On the single trail scale, this section is rated S3 and S4 in places. Only for experienced freeriders! Much easier in the second part.
Guests can master the ascent in a relaxed manner in the gondola and concentrate fully on the challenging downhill sections throughout the day. Just don't be distracted by the view of the Großglockner. The first part of the single trail is very difficult and only recommended for experienced bikers. The second section (end of the forest, as soon as you reach the dirt road) is easy to master. The trail starts at the middle station of the GG-Resort cable cars at 1,960 m. The finish is at 1,260 m in the Großdorf district, the total length is 4.76 km.
