Today we move through a part of the Karwendel Nature Park. After a longer ascent, it goes down into the Halltal and out to Gnadenwald.
From Thaur you climb up to the Romedikirchl, which is visible from afar, and to the Thaurer castle ruins. From here, follow the old Thaurer Alm path to the Thaurer Alm. Here the first ascent is done and you can enjoy the beautiful view from the alpine terrace.
Then continue eastwards above the Thaurer Gorge to the scenic power spot Kaisersäule. From there you have a breathtaking view into the Inn Valley and to the Stubai glaciers.
Behind the Kaisersäule it goes eastwards to the Törl, the passage into the Halltal. Here opens a stunning view of the Lafatscherjoch and the Bettelwurf massif. Those who look closely can also see the Bettelwurf hut perched on the steep mountain slopes. From the Törl it goes down into the legendary, rough Halltal. (this section should be crossed quickly). Past the gentlemen's houses continue to the Gasthaus St. Magdalena and further on the escape path until you branch off at the Berger chapel towards the contemplation path/Gnadenwald. Follow this last stretch until you reach your stage destination Gnadenwald.
