Hintereggensteig trail to the Neue Alplhütte mountain hut
From the Straßberg car park, a leisurely forest path leads to the Straßberghaus. Turn right there and continue your hike through a beautiful mixed forest. On the way, you cross a small stream, which makes the hiking experience even more picturesque. The path now becomes serpentine and leads steadily uphill towards Niedere Munde.
After a good hour's ascent, you reach the highest point of the hike, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama. Enjoy the view before continuing.
From here, a left fork leads downhill along the Hintereggensteig trail to the popular Neue Alplhütte, at 1540 metres, which invites you to take a break with its cosy atmosphere.
The way back is along the same path, so you can once again enjoy the tranquillity of the forest and the wonderful panorama. This hike offers a perfect mix of unspoilt paths, stream crossings and an inviting mountain hut - ideal for a relaxing tour in the mountains.
