You'll be amazed at everything there is to see. The Wood Trail is a circular route starting at the wooden bridge opposite the Wood Museum. The newly designed path leads past the Spar supermarket, across the Ried farms, and towards Roggenboden. There are ten stations where everyone – young and old, local and visitor – is sure to learn something new and experience at least one "aha!" moment. Did you know that the name Auffach comes from "auffachen" (to 'open')? In the past, there was a timber rafting operation here: the wood was collected at a certain point in the Ache river and transported with the help of strong men and the power of the water through the Kundl Gorge to the Inn Valley. There is so much to discover around the theme of wood – the stations encourage reflection, play, conversation, and a deeper connection with the subject. But it also offers a wealth of traditional knowledge about the history of the high valley, about life in agriculture past and present, about the animals in the forest, forest bathing, and art both large and small along the way, etc. At Roggenboden, the path then leads left down a beautiful trail towards Auffach, Tegelanger, and back to the original Holzweg (wooden path) and the starting point.

The Holzweg is ideal for families with children – however, it is not entirely accessible with a stroller.
