Description

Stage 2: St. Ulrich am Pillersee - Buchensteinwand - Fieberbrunn

The second stage first leads through the hamlet of Flecken with a view of the Jakobskreuz. Beautiful old farms are lined up around the village fountain and bear witness to living tradition. The route continues to the sports ground St. Jakob in Haus. From here via the ‘Katzeneck’, as the direct route is called by the locals, to the Buchensteinwand, where the next highlight of the tour awaits! The 30 metre high and fully accessible Jakobskreuz! You stand in front of it almost in awe and are amazed not only by its size, but also by the far-reaching view of the surrounding mountains from the Buchensteinwand. This view is best enjoyed from the top platform of the Jakobskreuz. You can reach it comfortably by lift or by climbing the stairs from the inside. Exhibitions repeatedly adorn the viewing rooms inside the cross and the telescopes on the panoramic platforms describe the surrounding peaks.

Heading west, you walk downhill past the valley station of the summit lift to the Tennalm. From here, continue downhill to the Schönau-Pertrach district, where you follow the last few metres of the asphalt road into the centre of Fieberbrunn.
