Mountain railway Tiroler Zugspitzbahn

Ehrwald

At 2,962 meters, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. You can reach the top comfortably and spectacularly by cable car, but also from the Tyrolean side.

We recommend because:

  • the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn is the oldest cable car in Tyrol and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026
  • the Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany
  • the summit delights with a 360-degree plateau border crossing
